In a collaborative project with a group of designers and myself we developed branding for a hypothetical Olympic games that would take place in Mexico City, Mexico. My main contribution was forming a logo that would be used for the event. I developed many different abstract representations of a monarch butterfly because of its symbolism relevant to the culture in Mexico City. The butterfly is a reminder of home and community. It is seen as the souls of loved ones who have passed, which is a uniting factor within Mexico City and can connect to other places around the world. It is a symbol of unity and connection with vibrant colors and round floral shapes to represent celebration and the beauty of Mexico City's nature.
